Russia targets 60 million tons of grain this year

Commodity Online: Russia's Vice-Premier, Viktor Zubkov said that it will produce 60 mln tonnes of grains in clean weight with a total bunker weight of 64-66 mln tonnes in the current year.

In 2009, the country harvested 97 mln tonnes of grains.

V Zubkov underlined that despite such essential fall of grain production, the carry-over stocks, which are present in the country, will allow to completely satisfy the domestic requirements of Russia in grains, and form the carry-over stocks as of July 1, 2011.

At the same time, he reminded that the grain requirements of Russia are estimated at the level of 77 mln tonnes.

The Vice-Premier reminded that as of October 1, Russia produced 59 mln tonnes of grains in bunker weight, but agricultural enterprises of Siberia and Altai still continue the harvesting campaign.
