The University of Maryland, Department of Plant Science and Landscape Architecture and the Center for Food Safety and Security Systems seeks candidates for an Assistant Professor (tenure-track position) in the area of food safety with a focus on produce and specialty crops.
The successful candidate for will establish an independent, innovative, and externally funded research program focused on food safety of specialty crops with an emphasis on produce derived from sustainable production systems. Additionally, the successful candidate will be expected to participate in research and education programs associated with CFS3. This is an academic year position with both a primary research and teaching appointment.
The successful candidate will teach courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels relevant to the specialty crop horticulture industries.
Qualifications: A Ph.D. degree in agronomy, horticulture, plant pathology, plant science, microbial ecology, molecular genetics, or a closely related field is required.
